Our first week had some amazing news coverage!
- ZDNet.com – Panasonic Opens Royalty-Free Portfolio to Boost IoT
- PCWorld.com – Panasonic to Make Some IoT Technologies Royalty Free
- eWeek.com – Panasonic to Share its Intellectual Property for IoT Development
- EETimes.com – Panasonic, 747 is our Connected Device
Thank you for your comment, but the articles below say 50 patents are available:
Panasonic to open patents to speed development of ‘Internet of Things’
Panasonic opens up patent free-for-all to trigger IoT growth
Are they not true?
The articles were guessing at the number based on some searching that we did. It isn’t that they are not “true”. What matters is that users of the technology do not need to care about patents held by Panasonic, whether the number is 50, 100, or 1000.
Where can I find the list of royalty-free patents that these articles describes.
One of the benefits of the patent pledge is that no list needs to exist. Panasonic has thousands of patents, and it would be extremely difficult to determine which of those thousands apply to OpenDOF implementations. The good news is that it doesn’t matter, any of the thousands that do apply are covered by the patent pledge. This includes patents that Panasonic may acquire or file in the future.
